Welcome Playschoolers! |
Welcome RSS Students! |
RSS Playschool is a licensed center located in the Rutland Senior Secondary School. Our playschool program runs from September to June, following our local SD23 school year. Registration opens in January 2021 for our September 2021 playschool year! Spaces fill quickly! Our classes allow for one on one attention through buddy pairing with our Child Development and Caregiving 12 students. RSS Playschool focuses on creating a positive and fun learning environment where children can explore games and activities and have positive interactions with their peers, and with their big buddies. Our program provides opportunities and experiences which foster all areas of your child’s development including: Social, Emotional, Physical, Intellectual, Creative, and Language. Our curriculum planning is based on a combination of Kindergarten readiness learning and seasonal themes. Academics, such as counting, color recognition, letters and concepts are explored through games, activities, stories and crafts. Children also enjoy regular field trips and holiday events! |
RSS Playschool is a licensed center located in the Rutland Senior Secondary School. Our playschool is available for students to enroll in the first and/or second semester. During this course, students will become aware of the tasks involved in planning and operating a playschool. They will learn and understand the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of the preschool aged child. Students are paired with a preschool aged child to work with on a one on one basis. Students will be placed in groups who then will be responsible for planning activities and lessons for the children according to a theme or concept they want to teach. They will also help their designated child with the activities, and with the daily care and routines involving the child's needs. If you enjoy children, if you are able to ensure regular attendance to our class, and if you would like to learn more about working in the childcare industry, ask your career councilor about getting enrolled next term! |
